Costs of living in Germany. Our monthly expenses

Exactly one month ago I arrived in Germany, but it feels like I left Moldova so much time ago. On 23^rd September I landed here and today I want to retell you, here on blog, how much costs a couple living together in Germany. I will retell you about our costs: what does mean to enter the supermarket just for some stuff and how much we pay for rent. I still convert euro in MDL, in order to compare the prices.)))

Astăzi se împlinește exact o lună de cand mă aflu aici, dar am impresia că sunt atât de departe de modul de viață pe care l-am avut până de curând. Pe 23 septembrie am aterizat în Germania, iar astazi vreau să vă povestesc aici, pe blog, despre costul vieții în doi: despre cheltuielile noastre din această lună, așa încât să vă dați seama ce înseamnă a intra până la magazin și la cât se ridică costurile de întreținere. Recunosc, încă nu mă pot debarasa de obișnuința de a recalcula totul în lei moldovenești. )))

Let’s start with our flat. The rent is 1000 euro per month. Besides that, internet and the light are about 100 euro. The rest of the utilities are included in the rent. Mobile phones: We own three mobile phones and we pay for all of them 260 euro, because the costs include the monthly plan and the price for the iPhones. Two cars. Filling up both cars means about 400 euro. Insurance is another 150 euro for both of them.

Să începem cu gazda. Chiria e 1000 de euro. Utilitățile, mai exact internetul și lumina, alte 100 de euro. Celelalte servicii comunale intră în costul chiriei, pentru că sunt centralizate. Telefonia mobilă. În casă avem trei telefoane mobile, care sunt la abonament. În total 260 de euro. De ce atât de mult? Deoarece în acest preț intră si rata lunară pentru mobilele propriu-zise. Două mașini. Alimentarea celor două, în condițiile în care eu încă nu circul zilnic, ne costă în jur de 400 de euro. Pentru asigurare, care se achită lunar, se consumă alte 150 de euro.

My german lessons. I do german with a Moldovan teacher and each lesson is 10 euro. I do 12 lessons per month. I chose this German Center of Languages from Chisinau. There is  also the possibility to attend the school from the city I live now, where the language is learnt among persons from different countries and the teacher is foreign too. Now I preffer a Romanian speaking teacher.

La cheltuieli de bază eu includ și lecțiile mele de germană. Acum le fac online cu o prefesoară din Moldova, iar ora predată individual – 10 euro. Intr-o lună sunt 12 lecții. Eu am apelat la Centrul de Limbă Germană din Chisinau. Mai există posibilitatea de a frecventa școala de limbi de aici, din orașul unde sunt stabilită, iar germana se învață alături de persoane din alte țări. Eu am preferat deocamdată să am o profesoară care este vorbitoare și de română.

Food. Uhh. It took some time for me to understand that is normal to spend more than 50 euro for the basic products for a week. More than that, we buy daily bread and besides the bread we use to take more and more, especially sweets. I can not make a summary of expenses, but those are about hundreds of euro. Do not forget about the cleaning stuffs, care products and cosmetics… for me.

Mâncare. Uhhh. Mi-a trebuit ceva timp să pricep că e normal să cheltui pentru produsele de bază pentru o săptămână mai mult de 50 de euro. De fapt, pe lângă acele alimente cumpărate o data în saptămână, în fiecare zi mai luăm pâine, iar pe lângă pâine, automat mai prindem ceva de pe rafturi. Mai ales dulciuri.  Îmi este greu să fac un sumar al cheltuielilor pentru mâncare, dar e de ordinul sutelor. Și să nu uităm de produse de curățenie, îngrijire sau cele cosmetice…pentru mine.

Maicure, pedicure, hair removal and all other stuffs I used to do in Moldova, here are a lot more expensive. I have not tried yet all of them. I did the nails and that costed me 25 euro. Pedicure is about 35 euro.

Serviciile lunare de infrumusețare, cu care eram obișnuită în Moldova, evident, aici sunt mai scumpe. Încă nu am reușit să le încerc pe toate. Manichiura plus acoperire cu lac gel începe de la 25 de euro, pedichiura de la 35.

Clothes. I bought some sport shoes at half price, then some other clothes, heels, a dress, pants and so on. He bought for himself one jacket, sneakers and a sweater. In conclusion, unexpected shopping – some hundreds of euro. By the way, near our house there is a shop where we find a lot of brand clothes sold very cheap. So, we go often there.

Haine. Am prins reduceri, așa că am luat niște perechi de încălțăminte sport pentru mine, la jumătate de preț, apoi niște haine, pantofi, rochie, pantaloni și multe mărunțișuri. El, la rândul lui și-a cumpărat o geacă, adidași, pulover. În concluzie, cumpărături neplanificate, alte sute de euro arse. Ca să vă faceți o idee legată de reduceri, pentru o pereche de adidași am dat 60 de euro, în loc de 120. Pe lângă asta, în apropiere de casa noastră există un magazine de haine de brand, la prețuri foarte mici, așa că apelăm des la el pentru că merită.

Entertainment. That means hanging out or taking dinner at the restaurants. On average, a dinner in two, including dessert and wine is about 100 euro. One hour of bowling costs 35 euro and at the game may participate more persons. Sport. Gym is about 25 euro per month, unlimited. Now, because of coronavirus I have chosen to stay away from places where there are a lot of people, in the same time. That is because the city I live now is a red zone. Moreover, I have the park near my house

Divertisment. Ieșirile în oraș, serile la restaurant tot trebuie luate în considerare. În general, o cină la restaurant pentru doi, incluzând vinul și desertul, ar însemna 100 de euro. O oră de bowling costă 35 de euro, iar la joc pot participa mai multe persoane. Sport. Abonamentul lunar e în jur de 25 de euro, nelimitat. Acum am decis, din cauza coronavirusului, să mă abțin de la activitățile ce implică prea multă lume la un loc, pentru că mă aflu într-o zonă roșie. Mai ales că am parcul la câțiva pași.

Of course, expenses differ from one family to another. We also spent some money on some furniture for our house and we didn’t look very attentive to the prices. By the way, I have a list of some creative ways for saving money, so when I will try the points said in the list, I will share with you my achievements.

Am încercat să vorbesc generalizat, pentru că cerințele lunare diferă de la o familie la alta. Noi am mai dat bani pentru chestii de casă, cum ar fi diverse obiecte de mobilier și ce-i drept nu prea am fost vigilenți la cheltuieli. Am o listă de metode creative de a economisi, așa că îndată cum o pun în practică, vă povestesc despre reușite. Hehe, s-o văd și pe asta. )))
