I consider myself a lucky person because I was accepted in 2015 in PRO TV Chisinau team. Next years I saw a lot of good CV-s of potential reporters but those persons were not even invited for a job interview. After a time I understood the strategy of hiring people. Journalism experience is not so important. They give attention especially to young people who can be shaped after PRO TV’s way of writing articles. More than that, young people, without children, are more likely to spend later evenings at work and all the holidays too.

Mă consider o norocoasă că am intrat în 2015 în echipa PRO TV. Asta pentru că de-a lungul anilor am observat cum prin fața șefului de la știri treceau zeci de CV-uri încărcate cu ani de experiență, dar oricum candidaturile nu erau nici chemate la interviu. În timp am înțeles că strategia de angajare  pentru reporterie e alta. Nu contează neapărat practica în jurnalism, ci simplitatea și vârsta celui care aplică. Simplitate pentru că redacția are nevoie de oameni “cruzi” care pot fi modelați treptat după felul critic în care se construiesc știrile PRO TV. Vârstă pentru că reporteria înseamnă reportaje târzii și de sărbători, iar un reporter cu copii va fi mai puțin dispus să dedice voluntar mai mult decât acele 8 ore pe zi.

Three of all the things I learned during those years of working for PRO TV:

1. When you don’t have anything to say, I am sure there is something more

I remember that once I was sent to do some lives about a robbed jewerly store. It was 8 PM o’clock. I arrived in front of the store but nothing was happening, no action. The police was inside and I only knew when the robbery happened, nothing more. I was there and I was asked to do three lives about it. What did I? I started to retell about the things I didn’t know. Exactly. Exemple: “I see there is a surveillance camera installed in front of the store. We don’t know if it recorded the time of the robbery and if the police had  accesed somehow the images. We are unable to talk to the store saleswoman, so we have no details about her reaction to the thieves. We don’t know how many thieves broke the store, but the police told us they would give us details after collecting all the data. ” And so on… you got it.

2. Every phone number could be found

Reporters from all the moldavian TV Channes and sites are connected in a common chat and they help each other every time one needs a phone number. These chats are separately for politic reporters, for reporters who write about health and so on. Besides that, there are other ways. If you are looking for an official, you could ask his phone number from a politician. If we are talking about a simple man from X village, you can call the Town Hall of that village or search on Internet.

3. Barter News

The rule is that every reporter should produce at least one reportage per day. Imagine there are not events, you don’t have any extra idea, then you should ask for news your sources. I remember the last time I did that, I called a deputy and asked him for any issue. It could be a law project or an amendment the party didn’t had announced yet. Why barter? Because I got an idea for an reportage and that party some visibility, kind of exchange of favors.

Trei dintre sunducul de chestii pe care le-am învățat în reporterie:

1. Când nu ai nimic de spus, la sigur mai e ceva de zis

Am fost trimisă odata să dau un live de la un jaf dintr-un magazine de bijuterii din centrul Chișinăului. Era ora 20. Ajung în fața magazinului, nicio acțiune. Poliția era în interior, iar eu știam niște detalii mărunte despre ora când a avut loc furtul și atât. Când ai de dat tocmai 3 live-uri în același jurnal de știri pe ce se întâmplă la fața locului, te cam descurajezi. Ce am făcut eu? Am început să povestesc despre lucruri pe care nu le știam. Exact. Citez: “ Observ o camera de supraveghere instalată în fața magazinului. Nu știm daca ea a înregistrat momentului jafului și dacă poliția cumva a accesat imaginile. Nu am reușit să discutăm cu vânzătoarea magazinului, așa că nu avem detalii despre reacția ei în fața hoților. Nu știm câți hoți au spart magazinului, dar poliția ne-a spus că ne va oferi detalii după ce anchetatorii vor colecta toate datele. “ Și tot așa… cred că v-ați prins.

2. Nu există număr de telefon de negăsit

Reporterii majoritatea televiziunilor sunt conectați într-un chat comun și se ajută reciproc atunci când e nevoie de un număr de telefon. Reporterii pe politică au chat-ul lor, cei din sanatate un altul și tot așa. În funcție de persoana de care ai nevoie, căutările decurg diferit. Dacă e vorba de un oficial, apelezi și la politicieni, daca de un localnic dintr-un sat X la primarie sau pe retelele de socializare

3. Știri pe barter

Regula e că în fiecare zi un reporter trebuie să aibă cel puțin o știre. Când evenimente nu sunt, idei de alte subiecte nu ai, atunci apelezi la surse. Îmi amintesc ultima dată când am făcut asta, am apelat la un deputat să îl întreb dacă are vreun subiect pentru mine. În asemenea cazuri poate fi vorba de vreun proiect de lege, amendament care urmează sa fie înaintat de partidul deputatului respectiv, iar anunțul nu a fost încă făcut. De ce e barter? Pentru că eu m-am ales cu o știre la zi, iar partidul dat are vizibilitate, un fel de schimb de favoruri.

How did I become PRO TV News Presenter?

It happened in 2018, after three years of reporting for PRO TV. This possibility appears only when one TV Presenter quits and her place remains free or when a new news bulletine is launched. In my case, in that year, PRO TV Chisinau launched the 13:30 News Bulletine, so I got the opportunity. There is also kind of unofficial order for becoming a PRO TV News Presenter. The person who has more years worked there gets the job. But it is not a rule. One thing is for sure. To become a TV presenter for PRO TV Chisinau you should work for PRO TV and wait until this chance appears.

Cum am devenit prezentatoare PRO TV?

Șansa mea s-a ivit după 3 ani de la angajare. Era 2018. Această șansă apare doar atunci când se eliberează un loc, adică cineva din prezentatoare își dă demisia sau apare un nou jurnal de știri. În cazul meu, în acea perioadă apăruse buletinul de știri de la ora 13:30. Există cumva și o ordine neoficială, pentru selecția noului prezentator, în funcție de vechimea în muncă. Adică reporterul angajat înaintea mea are întâietate. Regula nu e valabilă pentru toți. Un lucru e sigur, prezentatorii la știri se iau din interior și nu sunt recrutați.
